VALÀ - Purchase Terms and Conditions

Last updated on 7 July 2026.

1. General

In this agreement (the "Agreement"), "Customer" or "you" means the person purchasing any item made available for purchase (the "Goods") from VALÀ - Home & Contract, whether online via this website (the "Site") or in store, or whose order for the Goods is accepted by us.

For the purposes of this Agreement, "Seller", "VALÀ", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Vala Ventures Limited, a Maltese registered company bearing company registration number C 115043 and VAT registration number MT32633104, trading as VALÀ - Home & Contract. Our registered address is Pantar Complex, Block C, Pantar Road, Lija LJA 2021, Malta, and our outlet is located at Triq il-Mithna, Central Business District, Qormi CBD 5090, Malta.

2. Acceptance

2.1 On submission of an order for the purchase of Goods, whether online or in store, and upon confirmation of the availability of the requested Goods, we will provide you with an order confirmation. A contract is formed, and this Agreement comes into full force and effect upon receiving an order confirmation from us.

2.2 This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the Seller and the Customer in relation to the Goods purchased, whether the earlier discussions were verbal or in writing.

2.3 If this Agreement contains provisions that are contrary to the provisions set out in any other document, on any packaging or on any invoice or receipt, the provisions of this Agreement shall take precedence.

3. Prices and Payment

3.1 All prices shown on the Site or in store are in Euro (€). The Site will indicate whether displayed Goods are inclusive or exclusive of VAT at the rate applicable by Maltese law.

3.2 Prices for our Goods are subject to market conditions and may therefore change without prior notice.

3.3 For purchases made online via the Site, purchase orders may only be submitted together with the online submission of payment. We encourage you to read our Privacy Policy so as to understand how we use and process your personal data.

3.4 We aim to ensure that all Goods offered on the Site are available at the same price as in store. However, from time to time we may offer additional discounts for online purchases that do not apply in store, or vice versa, without separate notice.

3.5 We may also run additional in-store discount promotions for purchases made by any of our accepted payment methods, including during sale periods. These may not apply to purchases made through the Site or by other purchase methods.

4. Delivery

4.1 We deliver to all localities in Malta and Gozo.

4.2 Deliveries to Malta for orders exceeding a total amount of one hundred euro (€100) will be made free of charge; otherwise, a delivery fee of ten euro (€10) shall apply. For deliveries to Gozo, a fee of twenty euro (€20) will apply unless the order exceeds two hundred euro (€200), in which case delivery will be made free of charge. From time to time, we may offer promotional campaigns during which the free-delivery threshold or delivery charges differ. Any such variations will be clearly indicated in the relevant promotional material or during checkout and will prevail over the standard rates stated here for the duration of the promotion. Please note that separate orders cannot currently be combined once processed. Please also note that tile order delivery charges may be calculated separately based on the quantity ordered, irrespective of total order value.

4.3 On delivery of the purchased Goods, the Customer may be required to sign and confirm delivery by signing a copy of the purchase order provided by the delivery or courier service provider. Proof of identification of the recipient may also be requested.

4.4 Once dispatched, delivery will be made to the address specified in the order. Any subsequent redirection requests may be chargeable. If you are not available for delivery, or are not able to pay a redirection fee, you shall inform us without undue delay and we will contact you to establish another delivery appointment. A fee of twenty euro (€20) will be charged in the event of a missed scheduled appointment by the client.

4.5 If, despite a second attempt to deliver, the Customer fails to accept the purchased Goods, extra charges will be incurred by the Customer as from the third delivery attempt, and the Seller shall advise the Customer of the costs associated with re-delivery.

4.6 If you are not in a position to accept delivery within fifteen (15) days from the agreed delivery date, we will have the right to cancel the order, without prejudice to our rights to be reimbursed for any expenses incurred.

4.7 If we are not in a position to deliver the Goods within thirty (30) days from the agreed delivery date, the Customer shall have the right to terminate this Agreement and receive a refund of the monies paid for those Goods. No further damages may be claimed by the Customer from the Seller.

4.8 Deliveries are only made to ground floor, and arrangements for lifters, if necessary, shall be made by and at the expense of the Customer.

4.9 It is the responsibility of the Customer to inform us in advance of any requirement for delivery up the stairs by foot, and to confirm that the property to which delivery is to be made does not have lift or lifter access, or that the item being delivered cannot fit in the lift. If such information is not provided in a timely manner, we reserve the right to cancel the delivery. A base rate of €40 shall apply for delivery to the first floor, and an additional charge of €10 shall be applied for each floor beyond the first floor. The charge for delivery up the stairs shall be communicated to the recipient prior to delivery and shall be payable upon delivery.

  1. The Customer shall be responsible for ensuring that there is safe and clear access to the property and that the stairs are clear and safe for delivery personnel to use.
  2. The Seller shall not be liable for any damage or injury that may arise from delivery up the stairs by foot, including damage to the item being delivered, damage to property, or injury to delivery personnel.
  3. The Customer shall indemnify and hold the Seller harmless from any claims, damages or expenses arising from delivery up the stairs by foot, including claims arising from damage to property, injury to third parties or damage to the item being delivered.
  4. The Seller reserves the right to refuse delivery up the stairs by foot if, in the sole judgment of the delivery personnel, the stairs are unsafe or the item cannot be safely transported.

4.10 We do not offer international shipping at present.

5. Online Delivery

5.1 Online checkout orders are currently offered for delivery only.

5.2 When your purchase order is ready, we will contact you to arrange delivery to the address specified in the order.

6. Storage Fees

6.1 When your purchase order is ready for delivery, you may receive an e-mail notification informing you that your Goods have been prepared. If you are unable to receive the purchased Goods within ten (10) days from receipt of that notification, we may transfer the purchased Goods to storage.

6.2 Storage costs shall be borne by the Customer, who shall also bear the risk of loss or damage to the Goods during such storage time.

6.3 Additional storage fees may become applicable if the purchased Goods cannot be delivered within thirty (30) days from the date of receipt of the notification.

7. Ownership

7.1 Title to the Goods shall pass to the Customer upon payment in full of the price of the Goods.

7.2 Risk of damage to or loss of the Goods shall pass to the Customer or a third party indicated by the Customer at the time of delivery.

8. Reservations and Exceptions

8.1 There may be slight variations between the final product and the images shown on the Site or showroom samples, with respect to finish, colour, tone, graining or precise measurements. Certain handmade products are naturally irregular and such variations are to be expected. Our products will substantially conform with their descriptions; however, we do not guarantee against wear, fading or minor variations in wave, colour, tone, graining or precise dimensions.

8.2 We attempt to publish accurate information, but errors may sometimes occur. Any such errors in product specifications, descriptions and pricing will be corrected when they become known, and we reserve the right to revoke any stated offer and to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions, including after an order has been submitted.

8.3 If an error in pricing is discovered after your order has been submitted, we will inform you of the error and you may cancel or reaffirm your order.

8.4 We do not represent or warrant that the material and descriptions contained on the Site, or any functions of the Site and the servers it operates on, will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free, free from defects, viruses or bugs, or compatible with any other software or material. The Site is provided "as is" and access is entirely at your own risk. Nothing on this website constitutes advice of any kind.

9. Use of Purchased Goods and Indemnity

9.1 It is the Customer's responsibility to carefully read the disclaimers and recommendations found in Annex A of these Terms and Conditions, which form part of this Agreement.

9.2 It remains the sole responsibility of the Customer to carefully read the instructions and follow the guidelines set out in the user manual of each respective product before and while using the purchased Goods.

9.3 The Seller shall not be held liable for any future action, suit, proceeding, hearing, investigation, charge, claim or demand arising out of any injury to individuals or property as a result of the ownership, possession or use of the product sold, leased or delivered by the Seller to the Customer, except to the extent caused by the negligent acts or omissions or misconduct of the Seller.

10. Installation and Assembly

We may also offer installation and assembly services for Goods purchased from VALÀ, subject to the terms of this clause.

10.1 A request for installation or assembly services may be made in writing via e-mail to info@vala.mt or by contacting us on +356 2125 7000. We will review your request and suggest a date and time for the service. Where possible, we will try to schedule this service on the delivery date.

10.2 All Goods must be signed for on delivery by an adult aged 18 years or over.

10.3 The Goods to be assembled must be located inside the room where they are going to be used, or within three (3) metres of that location.

10.4 We may, where necessary, require the assistance of third-party subcontractors to complete certain installations. Where subcontractors are engaged, the Customer agrees that the Seller shall not be held liable for losses, damages and costs incurred by the Customer through the fault or negligence of those subcontractors.

10.5 It is the Customer's responsibility to ensure that there is adequate, clear and clean space available for the Goods to be assembled, as the assembly team or subcontractors shall not be responsible for moving existing furniture. Should there not be adequate and safe space, you may be required to book an alternative appointment and additional costs may be incurred.

10.6 For measured installations, or installations which depend on electrical points, the Customer shall ensure that all electrical points are certified by a qualified and certified electrician before installation. We may arrange for a surveyor to visit the site before installation to take the necessary measurements, photographs and records. Installation will be carried out on the basis of those survey records. If, at installation stage, the site measurements or electrical points differ from those recorded during the survey, the Seller shall not be held liable for any resulting delay, non-fit, additional work or other issue, and any additional installation visit required as a result may be subject to an extra charge.

10.7 All Goods to be installed by us must remain unopened by the Customer. Products are to be opened only by our installers, and the Seller shall not be responsible for any damage to items that have been opened, handled or tampered with by the Customer or any third party before installation.

10.8 The Customer shall also be responsible for the safe disposal of any packaging material after installation is complete. Carton collection and disposal may be provided upon request and shall be subject to an additional charge.

10.9 To cancel an assembly appointment or reschedule to an earlier date, please contact us on +356 2125 7000 or via e-mail on info@vala.mt.

11. Requesting an On-Site Inspection

11.1 You may also request an on-site visit for the inspection of any items purchased from VALÀ, whether in store or online. The minimum fee shall be forty euro (€40) for each inspection and shall be payable by the Customer on the day of the appointment.

11.2 The above-mentioned charge will be waived if, as a result of the inspection, the product is found to still be under warranty and the issue occurred due to a defect in the product itself.

12. Returns

If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we are here to help. All orders and purchases of Goods are subject to the returns policy stated here.

12.1 You have fourteen (14) calendar days from the delivery date, to return purchased Goods. You may submit a return request by sending an e-mail to info@vala.mt. We will seek to reply as soon as reasonably possible.

12.2 Purchased Goods may be returned to us at Triq il-Mithna, Central Business District, Qormi CBD 5090, Malta. Alternatively, local collection for returns can be carried out at a minimum charge of thirty-five euro (€35), excluding VAT.

12.3 On returning purchased Goods, a copy of the receipt or proof of purchase must also be presented by the Customer.

12.4 Items cannot be returned if you have started to assemble them. Returned Goods handed over to the Seller must be unused, free from defects, in their original packaging and in a resaleable condition. It is the responsibility of the Customer to take reasonable care of the Goods from the time they are delivered until the time they are returned.

12.5 Once we receive your returned Goods, we will inspect them and notify you that we have received the return. If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your original method of payment and the refund should be received within fourteen (14) days.

12.6 The Customer acknowledges and accepts that delivery costs are non-refundable.

12.7 Certain Goods such as gift vouchers, custom-made furniture, made-to-measure items, on-order or pre-ordered items, perishable items, items which by their nature deteriorate or expire rapidly, goods which have already started being produced for the Customer, bulbs or accessories are not returnable by their nature, and we cannot guarantee acceptance of the return of such Goods. Approval of any return remains subject to the Seller's internal policies.

13. Offers and Promotions

Offers and promotions are only valid while stocks last.

14. Liability and Defects

14.1 Any claim for a defect in the quality or condition of the Goods shall be notified to us in writing on info@vala.mt within five (5) days from delivery. The notification shall contain a detailed description and photos of the alleged defect. Failure to notify the Seller within that period shall be deemed acceptance of the Goods in good condition.

14.2 In the case of defective Goods, the Seller may, at its sole option, repair or replace the Goods free of charge or refund the price of the Goods. This shall be the Customer's only and exclusive remedy in the case of defective Goods.

14.3 We do not accept liability for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or for business losses, loss of revenue, income, profits or anticipated savings, loss of contracts or business relationships, loss of reputation or goodwill, or loss or corruption of information or data, even if we have been expressly advised of the potential loss.

14.4 Notwithstanding anything else in this Agreement, the Seller's liability shall never exceed the price of the Goods which are the subject of the claim by the Customer.

15. Guarantee

15.1 The Goods offered for sale by the Seller are subject to the warranties and guarantees awarded by law.

15.2 Warranty shall not cover damage for which the Customer is responsible, for example damage sustained due to high interior temperatures, intensive exposure to sunlight or artificial light, high voltages, natural wear and tear, damp or other temperature or weather factors, or improper treatment. In the event of any fault or damage to the Goods, the Customer must inform the Seller as soon as possible.

15.3 Due to possible electrical fluctuations, the Seller cannot offer warranties on light bulbs.

15.4 The following specific warranty details shall apply to the following categories of items.

  1. Large appliances: warranty starts on installation or three (3) months from delivery date, whichever comes first.
  2. BBQs: rust is not covered by warranty. Two years on ignition, burners and parts, subject to those items being kept adequately clean.
  3. Outdoor furniture: rust is not covered by warranty. Use protective covers when the furniture is not in use, avoid prolonged exposure to salt air or heavy rain, store indoors during extreme weather and do not use harsh cleaning chemicals.
  4. Ceramic tiles: installing ceramic tiles on a properly levelled screed using suitable tile adhesive is required to maintain warranty coverage. Installation on sand-gravel mix ("torba") will void the warranty.

16. Amendments

Amendments or modifications to orders and purchases of Goods will not be accepted following payment confirmation online.

17. Withdrawal and Cancellation

17.1 Customers have the right to withdraw or cancel the order or purchase of Goods for distance or off-premises purchases within fourteen (14) days from the order or purchase by informing the Seller in writing via e-mail on info@vala.mt and quoting the order number, where applicable.

17.2 The right of withdrawal shall not apply to the supply of Goods which:

  1. are made to the specifications of the Customer or are clearly personalised;
  2. are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly;
  3. are pre-ordered or on-order goods;
  4. are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and have been unsealed;
  5. are already in the process of being produced for the Customer; or
  6. have already been delivered, in which case the returns policy shall apply.

17.3 Subject to the applicable legal framework, the following cancellation and withdrawal timeframes shall apply:

For online orders where the overall price payable by the Customer is less than thirty euro (€30), the Customer may cancel the order and withdraw from this Agreement within five (5) calendar days from the delivery date.

Where the overall price payable by the Customer exceeds thirty euro (€30), whether the Goods were purchased in store or online, the Customer shall have the right to withdraw and cancel the order within fourteen (14) calendar days from delivery.

17.4 Where, prior to the delivery date, you choose to cancel your order or withdraw from this Agreement and notify us as indicated in clause 17.1, we will reimburse payments made to the same card or payment method used for payment.

17.5 If your order is already on its way, you may still return it in accordance with the return procedures in section 12 of this Agreement.

18. Breaches

Without prejudice to our rights under this Agreement, if you are found in breach of any provision set out in this Agreement, we may take such action as we deem appropriate to deal with that breach. If you default negligently or wilfully in any of the obligations set out here, you shall be liable for all losses and damages that such breach may cause us.

19. Privacy

19.1 We take the privacy of our customers very seriously and, for this reason, do our utmost to ensure that personal information provided to us is kept confidential.

19.2 We encourage you to read our Privacy Policy so as to understand how we use and process your data.

20. Waiver

Failure by the Seller at any time to enforce any provision of this Agreement shall not be construed as a waiver of that provision and shall not affect the validity of this Agreement or the Seller's right to enforce it later.

21. Enforceability

If any provision of these terms and conditions is held by a court to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected.

22. Force Majeure

Any delay, failure or defective performance by the Seller shall not constitute default or give rise to any claim so long as such failure is due to circumstances beyond the Seller's control or force majeure. Force majeure includes, without limitation, exceptional weather conditions, fire, strikes, epidemics, pandemics, shortage of energy or labour, industrial action, compliance with any law or governmental order, machinery malfunctions, IT system disruptions, or health and safety measures imposed by competent authorities in Malta that make performance temporarily or permanently impossible.

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malta.

24. Amendments to Agreement

This Agreement may only be amended with the written consent of the Seller.
